LEADER'S EXPERIENCES : NOT ALWAYS RIGHT CHOICE

Authors Monika Hamori of IE Business School in Madrid and Burak Koyuncu of Rouen Business School in Mont-Saint-Aignan, France, collected data on 501 CEOs of S&P 500 corporations. About 20% had at least one prior CEO job. Their findings? “Our research found that these prior CEOs performed worse than their peers without such experience.”

Working on same post for 3 years in one organization is really thought provoking and serious worry. I strongly believe that talent at same position in one company for 3 years has some defect inside. Specially, attitude wise.

Taking talent at senior position is really very much dangerous for an organization. Leader has to prove that he could be accepted by complete team down the line. Really tough.

Making acceptable presence in organization and producing results in time is always marathon task for any leader. Leader cannot make everyone in team happy.

I strongly believe that experiences strengthen knowledge level and belief level. Ability to un learn level slowly prove worst. Attitude to re learning and de learning is find hard .

Experiences also stubrun spirit level. Experiences  forces you to become safe , calculative, logical and slow in decision making. These attitudes do not help organization in growing fast and do not support in moving forward with speed.

Current scenario, in Asia is forces you to rethink before selecting CEO in the organization, specially well experience. Today, experience CEO success ratio is dropping down.

Experience is the best teacher, this proverb is proving wrong today. In today’s world, ability to un learn those experiences have significant value in life.
