Getting adequate sleep is essential in preventing health conditions such as obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Doctors in Japan’s Jichi Medical University have found that sleeping less than 7.5 hours in a day can add to the risk heart disease. In fact, a combination of little sleep and overnight elevated blood pressure was strongly linked with an increased risk of the disease.
A study was conducted on 1255 individuals with hyper active who were followed for 50 months. Researchers noted sleeping duration, Day time, and night time and blood pressure and cardiovascular disease such as a stroke, heart attack and sudden cardiac death. During the follow up, 99 cardiovascular disease events occurred. Sleep duration of less than 7.5 hours was associated with cardiovascular disease.
“The incidence of cardiovascular disease was 2.4% in 100 in subjects with less than 7.5 hours of sleep and 1.8 % per 100 in subjects with longer sleep duration”, as per the latest issue if Achieves of internal medicine.
People are sleeping less in modern world; late night seating and chatting is becoming life style. Food habits, High pressure work place and inadequate sleep are becoming the major reason for the heart disease.
