I find many managers carry files to home. If they do not carry work to home physically, they bring it psychologically. Mentally, they are with work. They discuss office at home, on cell or with colleagues, or internally with themselves. (Such discussions hardly add value to their lives.)
But, they fail to play another role of a father, husband, brother and friend. They also miss great opportunity to live with their hobbies, which makes them active, fresh and live.
Same way, they carry home at office, I find in SAARC countries, women carry home at offices, they discuss home at work place with colleagues. They are not at their best; they are not using their potentiality at fullest and proving themselves accountable. In some of the public sectors and Government organizations, I had observed this trend at the worst level. But, when I find working-women in private sectors, they have excellent skills and play multi roles. After a long hard working day, she goes home, and immediately, starts working on the other role, family management role. In fact, their mental commitment starts as they leave the work place. They get involved in the home role.
Participants asked me questions in the workshop of “Art of balancing roles” that it is very difficult to detach from the work place or home.
My answer was: “You have to get involved in another role. You are initially involved mentally and later on actually. You have to observe your interest level and commitment level too. Do you actually, want to perform that role or compulsion is forcing you to play that role.”
Bringing home at office and vice-a-versa is not a leadership.
When you are out of your work place, you have to play multiple roles such of a father, son, husband and brother, and friend. Apart from this, you have to live with your hobby. To play these multiple roles, you have to detach yourself with work place. To have full satisfaction of multiple roles, we have to learn detachment.
Same way, when you enter the work place on Monday morning (after a weekend), you are completely involved with the work and productivity.

When you are at work place, attach totally. Congruence shall be found in you. You find physical and mental harmony. This harmony only creates results and happy living which is the prime objective of life.
